Goblins and witches and ghouls, oh my! Halloween might be over for another year, (boo!) but at Hog Roast Skerries, we’re still reminiscing over the spooktacular month that was October. Chock-full of fun bookings for us to fulfil, the past four weeks were insanely busy for our team. From terrifying scare trails and horrifying movie nights at the drive-in; to family-friendly pumpkin patches and corporate fancy-dress luncheons; we were in charge of catering for them all.
But even those who stayed home this year were able to indulge in an eerie-sistable hog roast feast, courtesy of our all-new Gourmet Delivery option which has proved to be an instant hit among our new and existing clients alike. This Halloween, the Hog Roast Skerries team was inundated with phone calls from people looking to spice up their toned-down celebrations. And one booking came from Jenna, who wanted to treat her entire household to a flavoursome feast.
Our southern slow roast menu seemed perfect for the occasion, and with her daughter being a vegan, Jenna was grateful to be able to select a non-meat option of BBQ pulled jackfruit with a handful of suitable side options for her to enjoy. Meanwhile, the rest of the family had opted for fall off the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs, BBQ pork butt and Texan 24 hour beef brisket with creamy mac and cheese, Greek salad and buttery corn cobettes.
The dark seemed to take hold quickly on Saturday afternoon, and the skies opened to reveal a downpour of rain showers which set the perfect backdrop for the spookiest night of the year. Setting off in the early evening, Hog Roast Skerries trundled off to the client’s home where the team made a socially distanced delivery of flavourful grub which went down a storm with the whole family!
