For as long as she could remember, bride to be Debbie had been mad about owls, so when the time came to plan her wedding to Tim, she knew she wanted these majestic birds to be a main feature of the proceedings. As well as hiring a professional bird handler to bring some real-life owls to the wedding reception, she also kept the theme running throughout all of her table decorations and seating plans.
Owls aside though, the couple also wanted some great food that was elegant enough for their special day, but that could also be prepared and served outdoors. Since this is what the Hog Roast Finglas team does best when it comes to wedding catering, they hired us as soon as they saw our exciting range of wedding menus!
They wanted a canape welcome reception whilst their guests enjoyed seeing the owls in action, which included a selection of Dim Sum, delicate smoked salmon, mini pizza and gourmet sausages. The couple were thrilled with the variety of flavours we offered, not to mention our ability to make everything from scratch the venue using only the best available local produce!
For their main meal, they opted for a classic hog roast for their 100 guests, as well as whole roasted organic chicken as the alternative meat option, along with halloumi skewers for their vegetarian guests, all served with a selection of freshly made salads and new potatoes. Whilst the owl handler was doing his thing as the guests arrived, the Hog Roast Finglas team were doing our thing and we warmly welcomed the guests with trays of our handcrafted canapes. With the spectacle over and photos taken, we showed everyone to their seats inside the roomy marquee and served the rest of the meal.
There was a great atmosphere as everyone relaxed after the ceremony to celebrate Debbie and Tim’s marriage and the food was very well received by all of the guests. Debbie certainly got the owl-themed wedding she wanted and thanks to Hog Roast Finglas’s inventive menu and attentive service, everyone had a memorable meal and a really fun afternoon!
