Turning 40 is a huge life milestone that should be celebrated with enthusiasm and excitement. But for some, the big 4-0 can be more daunting than thrilling, which Alicia found out for herself recently!
As her husband Robert’s 40th approached, she noticed a marked change in his behaviour. Suddenly he was feeling more anxious and stressed than usual. So, in a desperate bid to lift his spirits and encourage him to focus on the positives, Alicia decided to plan a surprise birthday party for him.
She had hired out a function hall at an elegant hotel nearby and had invited all of their closest friends and family to join her in wishing Robert a happy birthday. Giving everyone something tasty to look forward to, she had hired Hog Roast Reheny to serve our Southern Slow Roast Menu on the night and had commissioned a local bakery to create a custom cake for the occasion.
Everyone was so excited to attend this monumental party, but they somehow managed to keep the surprise under wraps until the day of Robert’s birthday!
When the big day arrived, Hog Roast Reheny made sure to turn up at the venue long before the guests did, which gave our team plenty of time to set everything up.
After arranging the serving tables at the back of the hall, our team fired up the grill and began roasting the meat and jackfruit for the main course. While HogMaster did its thing, our crew quickly set up the dining tables and prepared the side dishes.
Soon after, the guests came flooding in, and Alicia and Robert weren’t far behind. The look on Robert’s face was priceless once he realised that everyone was there to celebrate his birthday, and after thanking his guests for coming, he encouraged them to get stuck into the ‘delicious-smelling food’ that Hog Roast Reheny had prepared!
Our buffet of BBQ pork butt, Cajun-spiced whole roast chicken, sticky pork ribs and BBQ-pulled jackfruit with sides of mac and cheese, coleslaw and mixed fries was an instant hit among the guests. Everyone was impressed with the flavours, and none couldn’t resist coming back for more.
It turns out a party with his loved ones, great music, and some tasty grub to chow down on was all Robert needed to make turning 40 a little easier, and by the end of the night, he was in high spirits!
