And what pairs better with a crisp, cool beer than a luscious hog roast? That’s right: absolutely nothing! So, when event planners arranged to host a beer festival in our hometown, Hog Roast Ballybough was asked to handle the catering.
This festival was a smashing success, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. Temperatures soared to a sun-soaked 28 degrees Celsius, and the glorious sunshine set the stage for a day of epic proportions. With the promise of endless pints and delicious food, hundreds of locals and visitors turned out to join the party.
Let’s talk beer first because these weren’t your run-of-the-mill brews – Oh, no! We’re talking ice cream and birthday cake-flavoured ales, cherry bakewell brews, and refreshing summer fruit concoctions. The adventurous flavours had everyone buzzing, and the festival-goers couldn’t get enough of these quirky, delicious elixirs. Add to that a soundtrack of live music that kept the vibe lively and vibrant, and you had one unforgettable celebration.
And then there was us: Hog Roast Ballybough, doing what we do best—serving up hog roast sandwiches that made taste buds tango with joy. We dished out soft gluten-free rolls, generously filled with succulent pulled pork, sage and onion stuffing, crunchy crackling pieces, and our tangy homemade applesauce. It was the ultimate balance of rich and hearty flavours. On the side, we added a seasonal mixed salad, crisp coleslaw, and mixed fries to keep the plates colourful and the flavours fresh.
The feedback was amazing. Our hog roast was the perfect accompaniment to the inventive ales, and the combination had guests’ palates dancing with joy. Watching everyone relish our food while they sampled the unique beers and soaked up the sunshine was an experience we won’t forget.
