Earlier this year, Hog Roast Ballyboughal was contacted by a local school to provide catering at their upcoming Halloween event. The school was planning on hosting a party for students and staff to enjoy as a way to unwind and enjoy the holiday. Alongside the catering, the party was set to include a variety of games and activities, sweets and goodies, and a costume competition with some great prizes. For the menu, the Hog Roast Ballyboughal team had been hired to serve a classic hog roast, with a few additional dishes to create a varied and nutritious buffet lunch.
On the day of the party, the Hog Roast Ballyboughal team arrived at the school in the morning and set up our catering station in the sports hall. We began by slow-roasting the hog and ensuring that it was cooked to perfection before it was expertly carved by our chef. The sliced pork was served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Additionally, we served succulent pork sausages and veggie sausages to create hot dogs. For the side dishes, the guests enjoyed homemade chips, corn cobettes, gourmet coleslaw, and a selection of seasonal salad dishes. Our catering was a great addition to the event and was a perfect treat for the students and staff to enjoy on Halloween.
