The news of pregnancy comes with plenty of perfect excuses to throw a party. These celebrations will usually kick off with the initial announcement in the first trimester, and end with the more commonly recognised baby shower tradition, which has been increasing in popularity year on year.
At Hog Roast Clontarf, there are fewer things we find more exciting than helping couples to prepare for their new arrival by way of a family-friendly party, so when Ellie reached out to us and asked us to cater at her baby shower, our team couldn’t wait to get involved! Expecting around 50 people to attend the very special occasion, the client had asked us to serve our private party menu 4, which has become a firm favourite among our other customers since it is perfect for outdoor events.
From the variety of dishes on the menu, Ellie had chosen our BBQ 100% beef handmade burgers, with chefs own juicy gourmet sausages and locally-sourced free-range chicken served with chipolata sausage, stuffing and homemade onion gravy for the meat-enthusiasts. Meanwhile, BBQ pulled jackfruit, and veggie skewers were to be made available as the vegetarian option alongside inclusive salad side options, cheese, coleslaw and jalapeno smothered fries and a basket of gluten-free rolls and wraps.
To make sure the food would be ready in time, Hog Roast Clontarf arrived at the client’s home a few hours early to get the preparations started. As they allowed the meats to sizzle over a low flame the team quickly prepped the side dishes before helping to set up the garden with bunting and balloons ahead of the guests’ arrival. With identical twin boys on the way, Ellie wanted the event to be double the fun, so she had also organised a bouncy castle for the children in the family, and plenty of hilarious baby-inspired games like spin the dummy and ‘beer belly or bump’ for the adults to play with lots of novel prizes to be won.
Overall, everyone had a wonderful time, and as they gathered around for the opening of the presents, Hog Roast Clontarf arranged the leftovers on a platter for the guests to nibble at later on before quietly packing away the catering equipment and disposing of the rubbish off-site.
