The growing popularity of silent discos has sparked a lot of interest from club-enthusiasts and event planners alike, and last weekend saw Hog Roast Lucan stepping back in time after we were invited to attend an 80s themed charity function that had been organised by Chloe. Of course, our team weren’t there to get their groove on, but instead to do what they do best by cooking up an exquisite hog roast buffet from one of our many finger-licking menus!
With upwards of 300 people set to attend the modern disco, there was no room for error at this event, and after talking with our resident catering manager about the services we have on offer, the client was happy to go ahead with our comprehensive southern slow roast menu option. After finalising the details for the event, Hog Roast Lucan immediately got started on the preparations and striving to make everyone feel included and provided for, our expert catering crew impressed the client even further by adding a selection of meat and gluten-free alternatives to the menu for those with different dietary requirements.
Hours before the charity event kicked off, Hog Roast Lucan arrived at the client’s chosen venue which offered a spacious dance floor with plenty of room for our team to set up a buffet table and a seating area for the guests. Using our state of the art cooking equipment, the catering crew whipped up a tantalising spread of BBQ pork butt, Texan 24 hour beef brisket and fall off the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs which were paired with Memphis style crunchy coleslaw, creamy mac and cheese, buttery corn cobbettes and mixed salads. For those following plant-based diets, the team had also created our famous grilled veggie skewers with optional haloumi along with mushroom and haloumi burgers.
Before long, the party-goers began piling into the venue wearing their finest 80s inspired gear and as the DJ’s transmitted the classic tunes through wireless signals to the guests’ headphones, Hog Roast Lucan began serving up the mouth-watering food. Between breaking a sweat on the dancefloor and making connections with new people, the guests gratefully indulged in the hog roast spread which quickly became a highlight of the night.
